NAMIWalks 2017 – Every journey begins with that first step. This year, more than 50 thousand people in more than 80 communities across the nation will join NAMI and walk together to raise awareness of mental illness and raise funds for local, regional and state NAMI organizations.
Each NAMIWalks event brings together people of all ages and fitness levels for a fun 5K walk event. Those who are unable to walk with us are welcome to register and participate as a volunteer or “virtual walker.”
Each NAMIWalks event has its own website on which to register, found on the home page of the NAMIWalks website. Registration is required, but there is no registration fee. Instead, participants are encouraged to build teams and raise funds to support the work of their local, regional and or/state NAMI organization.
Participants raising $100 or more will receive a NAMIWalks T-shirt on Walk Day. Some locations offer additional recognition prizes for reaching higher fundraising levels.
Need more information about your local Walk? Every NAMIWalks event has a Walk Manager who is the primary contact person. The name and contact information for your Walk Manager is listed on your event’s home page. We encourage you to reach out to them and join the movement!
The Washington State NAMIWalk is June 3rd in Kirkland.
Christopher Porter has “stepped” up to be our Team Captain!
